BIO-QUANT, INC. NAMES BASSAM B. DAMAJ, Ph.D., PRESIDENT AND CEO.

      SAN DIEGO, CALIFORNIA, March 27 -Bio-Quant, Inc., a multiplex detection company with several technology platforms in diagnostics, announced today that Bassam B. Damaj, Ph.D., has been named President and Chief Executive Officer of Bio-Quant,succeeding John Ryan, who will continue as Secretary of the Board.

      Dr. Damaj brings extensive biotechnology and pharmaceutical experience to the company. Before joining Bio-Quant, he served as President and Chief Executive Officer of BioSignature Diagnostics. He also served as the Group Leader for the Office of New Target Intelligence and as a Group Leader for immunological and inflammatory disease programs at Tanabe Research Laboratories, USA, Inc. Previous appointments included senior scientist and member of the senior staff board of the drug discovery department at Pharmacopeia, Inc. Dr. Damaj was also a visiting scientist at Genentech, Inc., Pfizer, Inc. and the National Institutes of Health.
